WEEK 8 : ROLE OF INSTITUTION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Assalamualaikum and Hi everyone!
For this week topic, we will discuss about the role of institution for sustainable development. They have power to mobilize their resources, individual also have power but limited to our own saving. If we about to be partnership with individual or institution, we have to make sure that our objective of SDG is align with theirs. So that both definite goals can be achieved successfully.
This topic is interrelatedness with SDG Goal 17 which is 'Partnership and the Goals'. Everyone must have good partnership in activities that should be done together, if not, we won't have a synergy because for individual alone to do certain task must be tired and we might not feel motivated to continue. Partnership is kind of support from people or institution which is without them, we might collapse.
Islamic perspective
We are living in the world that could be more justice and peace. I've once heard about the slogan ' No peace, No justice' . Incredibly, this words indeed true. How can we stay in peace if no stand of justice. As justice must be regarded as crucial prerequisites to have an eternal peace. In attaining peace, one must purify his heart from any bad deeds or greed feelings. That's when the justice is presence , the moment you feel responsible to preserve and protect the humanity and earth just the way it is commanded by Allah SWT.
Allah SWT has mentioned in the Quran:
O, You who believe! Be upright for God, witnesses to justice; and do not let your hatred of a people move you to a position where you are unjust. Be just, that is closer to piety. Be mindful of God! Verily God is well informed concerning all that you do. [Quran 4:135]
Besides, we have to realize, no i must realize that i won't success alone without the supports and hands from my friends. We have to be able to work together, be patient when dealing with members, get someone to help if we are in need. There is also hadith Prophet SAW saying about this:
“Faith Believers are to each other as a brick of a wall, supporting and reinforcing each other“.
I think we as a human, everyone has responsibility for sustainable development. Sustainable development not only responsible for some leaders in the world and institutions, but it is our responsibility. If we cannot do big changes, we can try doing small efforts that we can. If everybody in this world put the small efforts, then we can change the world together. This world is our world.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the explanation leya! I feel interested to say that institution is actually hold a very big responsibilities. If they misuse their power, the punishment they will get is severe in hereafter. Their role must produce benefit to the other also and not concentrated the assistance for only particular group of people. It should be for all without exception.
ReplyDeleteTrue! there is no peace if justice is invisible. We always say that we can do it by ourselves because thinking working with people just brings a headache. But actually with a proper leadings and patience, a success can be achieved.
