WEEK 12 : CASE STUDY OF PROJECT PROPOSAL
Assalamualaikum and Hi everyone!
Today is going to be my last chapter as a blogger because we have arrived to our last week!. Not a subject topic to be exact because week 12 and 13 is actually our presentation period. Therefore, basically I will make this blog as my reflection of the project and lesson that I gasp from the other group also.
My group project proposal is about cutlery. The cleanliness and usage of IIUM Gombak cafes cutlery. Seems trivial right? I know this issue is deemed to be neglected by the students because not like a big issue to be highlighted. Me myself also had thought that why I bother choose this issue but then I countered the same problem when I go to café by café. Finally, we've made a decision to bring this issue up to the authority to acknowledge them that this problem is troublesome. Just imagine how you're going to eat with a dirty cutlery provided by the café when the hygiene is being doubted and worry. The cutlery is sticky, dirty, the dirty organizer cutlery and sometimes they even provide rusty spoon. This is not assumption because my group has made observation for it and took evidences. If we still eat using the dirty cutlery and not take part as an individual to do something about it, it will affect our health such as cross contamination food. It kinds of disease where the bacteria is transferred through food. That one problem.
Besides, almost all the cafes provide plastic cutlery instead of reusable or silverware cutlery. The excessiveness on the reliance of plastic things is worrying and not a good exemplary to see. Why? Obviously it brings harm to the environmental wellbeing. We've seen on news, television and social media about how plastic could bring miserable impact to the life below water and the beauty of the ocean. It brings a threat to this livings and human has to put a stop their greediness behavior. It clearly indicates that this issue is a barrier in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Therefore, this issue is really important.
Therefore, we have came out with few solution which is
- Talk snack: Hygiene practice for Dining
- Campaign Bring your own cutlery

Keep that your hard work, I hope you still do your blog after this, your reflection is really insightful and interesting <333
ReplyDeleteGreat topic you did for your project. I have also never been so concerned about this plastic issue. The issue of hygiene should indeed also be emphasized. I also noticed this in cafes; their cutlery is always not clean, which is very dangerous because it can invite various diseases. I hope this project goes well, and I love your campaign idea; it’s cute. Sad to read that this is going to be your last reflection. Good luck with your future endeavors!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great project you have leya! Ive never thought that this project could be this important to SDG goals. After read your blog, I will be more careful in using plastic stuff. I want to add, I think that the other way we can cope with the cleanliness of the cutlery is by using our own hand to eat. It also a sunnah and easier. But still we have to wash it before everything. cleanliness is number one priority.
